Stitchings is a family owned and operated fashion retailer located in picturesque Lithgow, which sits on the western fringe of the beautiful Blue Mountains.
‘The Stitchings’ began as a haberdashery store which evolved into ladies’ fashion. It was owned by Bernard and Rose Weiss who were fashion wholesalers in Surry Hills. We haven’t been able to put an exact date on when this iconic business opened its doors – according to ASIC the business name has been registered since 1954!
In 1985 Sophia and John Giokaris acquired Stitchings. They were no strangers to Main Street ventures. From the 1960’s to the 1980’s they owned and operated several businesses including: The Astria Cafe; The Lithgow Steakhouse and Celeste Hairdressing Salon.
